Copy of a letter from Lieut. Col. Robert Kyd, offering for the consideration of the Board various reasons in favour of the establishment of a Botanical Garden, stating the great probability of success in cultivating the Ceylon species of cinnamon in Bengal, submitting a drawing of that tree, together with a memorandum containing his observations on various trees, plants, gums, etc., and remarking that the expense of such an institution ought not to exceed rupees 150-200 a month.
