To Post Master General - In reply - States that the Instruction he has issued to Captain Lambs successor for securing the accounts connected with the Chokey called Jeehagunge under the Moorshedabad Post Office are entirely approved. To desire Mr. Cardew to make a full investigation into the points noticed in the 16th Para of Post Master General letter to Government and to report the same when completed. Captain Lamb having expressed a desire to pay into the General Treasury the sum in his hands on Account of the Jeehagunge Post Office which must include the whole of the emoluments which that Officer derived from the time the Moorshedabad Post Office was transferred to his charge - With reference to that Officers state of Mind, no communication to be made to him at present on the subject.
