From Secretary - In reply states that the Fund is formed of fixed allowances granted to certain Public officers authorized by Government in 1857, which are applive to landable objects, but the Civil Auditor has been instructed to # the Heads of officers to Make disbursements out of the Petty supply allowces & called upon the report whether any deduction could be made in teh aggregate of the Petty supply allowces & whether those # should not be carried to the credit of Government half only # the effect to form a fund for future contengencies.
