Opening of Sewing and Knitting classes as a Welfare measure. HM's suggestions for - to impart training to families of railway employees with a view to provide them sources of a subsidiary occupation and means to augment the income. Necessary instructions issued to Rlys administrations for opening of such handicraft centers on Rlys. The Railways further advised that on trial basis they should place orders at these centers for supply of articles such as uniforms bed-sheets pillow covers table sheets etc. for the hospital, running rooms dinning cars etc so that the family members of Railwaymen may usefully employee their spare item also augment the family income
