Western Railway:- Grant of compensation under W.C. Act Shri E.L. Regheline, Assistant Foreman Foundry shop, Dohad. The case of Shri E.L. Regheline, Foundry shop Foreman, Dohad, W.R. after receipt of information that an employee was assaulted, Shri Regheline went to site of the incident to make inquiries and was himself assaulted. The Railway administration's held the view that the employee was not entitled to compensation under the Workman's Compensation Act, in as much as he came within purview of Sech. II of the Act and his emoluments exceeded the limit of Rs. 500/- mentioned therein. The employee filed and application before the commissioner for workman's compensation whose decision was in favour of the employee. The Railway want to the High Court, but the High court upheld the decision of the workman's compensation commissioner. The Railway sought Board's approval to take the case to the Supreme Court, which was given. The Railway thereafter filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court's judgement
