Classification of Worker under the 1948 Factories Act:Position clarified to the G.M., I.G.F. that, in line with the Labour Ministrys recommendations, the question of whether the term worker under the Act should be applied should depend on whether the staff members job directly relates to the manufacturing process carried out in a factory. The work that each employee completes is more significant than the group to which he belongs. The term Worker is inappropriate if it is determined that such staff members are not related. It was suggested that the G.M. look into the matter more thoroughly and, if needed, confer with the factory inspector
