In reply to letter no 2102 of the ultimo.With reference to a letter of the 31st december last relative to the salary of the station staff officer at Moulmein , transmits copy of a mommander from the adjt genl of the army on the subjects that govt concur with the c in c considering to be decidely undesirable that a regt staff officer should be employed also station staff where as at Moulmein he would be placed in consequence under the orders of two separate comd g offrs & as has been shown that for a writer alone it has been found necessary to pay the whole amount at present allowence as staff salary.
