With reference to paragraph 2 of Despatch No. 89 (Statistics and Commerce), dated 7th June last, forwards copy of a letter from the Government of Bengal, giving cover to a report from the Chemical Examiner to Government, which explains the mode of testing petroleum adopted in Calcutta.
