Question raised by the Accountant General, Bombay, whether the Secretary of State`s sanction is required to the revision of the rates of pay of Sub-Assistant Surgeons in the Bombay Presidency as the extra cost payable from General Revenues and incorporated and excluded Local Funds exceeded Rs.50,000 a year. Ruling given by the Comptroller and Auditor-General that in cases of revisions the authority having power to sanction should be determined by the cost to be met from Government revenues or from Local Funds administered by Government and amendments proposed in the Audit Resolution with reference to it.
