Extract from a letter dated Lodon the 12th April , 1786 from the Secret Committee of the Court of Directors to the Governor-General giving the result of their investigation into recent inbestments intimating that the Company have ordered suits in equity against Messrs Aldersey and Dacress, late Presidents of the board of Trade, and Messrs Thomas Chapman and James Lucas worhsip late silk contractors for defranding the Company in their silk investments requesing that bills may be filed in the supreme Court against those contractors who supplied silk ant the same rates as those of Messrs Chapman and Workship and against the members of the Board of Trade, concerned therein authorising the prosecution of such of the company servants as shall on investigation appear to have any complicity in such practices and empowering their suspension pending trial.
