Letter from Mr.Francis Fowke, Resident at Benares, enclosing bills of exchange fo th sum of Calcutta sicca rupees 1,63,396-1-17 drawn in favour of the Company being the balance of Raja Cheyt Sing kist due the 4th ultimo after deduction of Nabob Saadut Ally Khan monthly allowances and intimating that no reply has been received from the Raja to the Governor General perwanna for the demand of a part of his cavalry that he will pay strict attention t the Board orders regarding the grant of advances to officers marching through the country and that he has remitted to Major Camac the balance of the subsidy.
