Extract Political Department - Communicating Extract from a Minute by the Governor General dated 30th April 1832 relative to leave of absence granted to Civil & Military Officers. His Lordship notices nistances of abuse of this indulgence - Recommends that an Officer going a second time n Sick Leave for a period exceeding 12 months, have no claim to return to his Appointment - Notices also the unfair operation of the Rule which directs that if a Civil Servants on deputation be nominated to a New Appointment which can be considered as promotion the deputation allowance enjoyed by him ceases - Suggests that in the particular case of Mr. Boulderson that Gentlemans Bills for Acting Allowance be passed and for consideration the question of allowing Commissioners of Circuit going away from their Division on leave of absence that portion of their Allowance which is intended to meet the expence of travelling from Station to Station.
