From General Committee - In reply to letter of 6th December last respecting Mr. Birds suggestions for establishing Seminaries at some of the Principal Stations in the Interior for the Education of the higher classes of Natives - Apprehend the want of Funds, the lowest cost of one College may be computed at from 1000 to 1200 Rupees a month, this might be provided by abolishing some of the Minor Establishments & limiting the cost of others. Suggest the nomination of local Committee of European & Native Gentlemen at Moorshedabad, Dacca & Patna to report on the practicability of establishing Colleges at those places, and how far the Natives would contribute towards their support.
