From Board - In reply to letter, state that there cannot be any doubt that it is for the interest of Government to put the repairs of their Vessels up to open competition would give every preference to Mr. Kyd which did not tend to defeat this object will submit to parties inclined to Tender a revised scale of rates of charge, will forward a set of them to Mr. Kyd with intention that unless he Tenders Goverment will be unable to continue the work to him. Will hereafter submit the extent of compensation to which Mr. Kyd is justly entitled.
