From Board - Report that without communication being made to them, direction have been issued by Captain Richmond to the Quarantine Master at Diamond Harbour to send the whole of the Guard to Alipore, request authority to their engaging two Chokedars at 6 Rs. per mensem each for guarding the Lazaretto Premises and suggest that the whole of the Quarantine Establishment be discharged. Captain Cowles retaining under his charge the Arms Flags and sending the Sophia & Row Boats to Town, and that the Rules be still kept in force in case of the arrival of a Vessel from the Persian Gulf.
