From Committee - Adverting to the late conduct of the Portuguese Government at Macao towards the Select Committee in the case of Captain Baker and to the probable delay and partial decision that would ensue from a reference to the Government of Portugal particularly in its present distracted state detail the origin and nature of the Portuguese tenure of Macao and submit whether a remonstrance frmo the Supreme Government to that of Goa should not again be made counselling some alteration inthe instructions which have been transmitted to the Subordinate Settlement of Macao respecting the character in which the Representatives of the East India Company are in future to be recognized by it.
