The Superintendent of Marine - With reference to the present state of the River Bird reports having had an interireon with the agent who declines taking less than the equivalent of 90,000 Dollar the value fixed onher ( Being last to Government) on the event of a total loss states the desirability of her being taken over at once & that the agent has applied for the hire of the vessel which he states was under stood by him to be Rs. 450 a day remarks that steam tags on this river do not charge more than Rs. 300 demarrage with steam & 200 Rs. without add. that he ask to be permitted to draw 30,000 Rs. on account lent subjoins that the vessel has not earned that sum forwards a letter record from messrs Ashburer & Company.
