Read a Despatch from the Honble Court of Directors no. 49 of 1857 dated 25th March replying to letter no. 19 of 1856 reparting the grant of rank and presidence to the President of the Council of India and the Commander in Chief of the J. N and forwarding minutes on other points - with precedence in India the Honble Court forward a new Tabk of precedence approved by Her Majesty in which rank and precedence are granted to the President of the Council of India and to the Commander in Chief J. N. With regard to the rank of the Fourth Ordinary Member of the Council of India the Honble Court are of opinion that no doult need have been entestained on the point the circumstance of a doubtful expression in H. M. Warrant not having supereded the arrangement made by the Inferial Legislature.
