Read a Despatch from the Honble Court of Directors No. 16 of 1856 dated 5th March authorizing the re-engagement of Mr. Tho. Oldhan the Geological Surveyor for a further period of 5 years on anincreased salary of 1100 Rs. per month. Remark that the Court have not received regular Reports of the progress of Mr. Oldhan labovs from which circumstance they approhond his operations have not been carried on a retular a systematic fooling. In conummuicating to him his e-engagement he should be called upon to submit a regular scheme for his future operations and when the plan shall have been sanctioned it should he adhered to with as little deviation as possible. The Court desire also that a full Report of his past labors and any Maps he may have made may be forwarded to them.
