Acting Superintendent P & O S. N. Company - States that the building of an See House on board the Hindostan would take 12 days working night & day would cost Rs. 1200 & explains that this item was not entered into the Calulation of the expenses of the voyage when affering the ship for charter to Government - Points out the impracticability at the present moment of constructing an See House on the Vessel & any additional outlay required to be made on it by Government must be borne by them - Certain improvements have already been made in the Vessel which has cost the # about 1200 Rs. a portions of which should be borne by Government - In conclusion requests to know as soon as possible of the wishes of Government regarding the See House & whether the Hindostan should be advertized as being postaponed and to what date.
