Acting Secretary - Solicits instructions as to the allowances which Mr.O. I. Davies Collector & Magistrate of Branch deputed in May 1859 on special duty to enquire into certain claims of the Shakore of Bhownnggur who has obtained leave to Europe on Medical Certificate for 15 months. resigning his appointment of Collector etc.Magistrate from the 2nd Instant should draw while absent in # then being no rule providing for the case of a Civil Servants who proceeds on Medical Certificate to England without retaining an appointment & without a claim to more than Dewanle Allowance of this his rank would the allowance to which mr. Davies will be sulitted be loss than the Funds rate of Ponds 500 a year requests permission toallow him as a special case. a 3 years furlough in him of the leave granted him.
