From Agent Hill Tracks of Orissa - The recent case of Meriah sacrifice in upper Gomsur repoted in his letter dated 7 Ultimo having rendered it necessary that a trrict supervision over the districts nearest our immediate control as well as over the bordering Bustun and Jaypore should be exercised proposes to obtain either through the Madras Government or from the Zemindar of Jaypore or others 13 Elephants to carryon his usual tours to that the absence of such visits in the Hill Tracts may not lead the sacrifising tribes to imaginethat over visits have ceased adds that if the above number of Elephants could be placed at the disposal of agency from the 100 now at Sumbhlpore much time and correspondence would be saved.
