To Acting Superintendent P & O Company - Acknowledges the foregoing and states that the explanation submitted does not appear to authorize the additional charge of Rs. 1810 for Stewards Fees included in the account rendered of the Hindostans Voyage to Suez & Back. The conditions stated in letter hence No. 428 which were accepted as correct in his reply of the 2nd idem were as detailed in letter - This Government certainly assumed that the actual expanses would include the Stewards fees equally with the table of the passengers & the correctness of this appears establish by the conditions & # printed on the back of the Ticket forwarded by him - Under the circumstances & with the information now before the Government the charge of Stewards fees cannot be admitted and requests that a revised account be submitted giving Government audit for the full amount of passage money etc.
