Mass-scale retrenchment in the Office of the Textile Commisioner, Bombay-Retention of non-quasi-permanent non-graduates but at least Matriculates in certain grades on the basis of their length of service irrespective of their educational qualifications. Reconsideration of the General Principles regarding retrenchment by the Cabinet and their decision that (i) Alternative employment for retrenched staff will have to be found out, if necessary, by retrenching employees who have rendered comparatively shorter service in other offices of the Government of India (ii) A certain number of posts at all levels should be filled by direct recruitment and (iii) Pre-1983 entrants should normally be retired at the age of 55 and thus create more vacancies for the absorption of retrenched personnel
