Decision of hte Patna High Court in the case of K.M.Selected Coal Co. of Manbhum that cesses levied under the Bihar and Orissa Mining Settlements Act, 1920 and Jharia Water Supply Act, 1914, should be allowed as a business expense in the assessment of coal mines. Sanction to the payment of a sum of Rs.300/- to the Government Advocate Bihar and Orissa for appearing in the above case.
