With refrence to mily Department letter no 542 o the 23rd May 1850. submits, for information Copy letter and from the Commissariat, allahabad division , forwarding,s with the observation the report, of a Communication on the allahabad fort revetment well together with Copy of the reply there to from which it will be observed , that the Board, are not prepared to recommend the adoption of the very expensive suggested by the Sugp Engineer Central Provinces, of Divertng the Current of the River by a Piea , but that they Commn with the commissariat, in Opionion tha the Revetements, wall should be carefully, backed up and mater presented from sappoing into the soil on standing , behind the Revetments, wall, and have accordings, directed , that the Gound, om ear of the wall and immediately hacking it up should in the first Instance.
