In reply to no 1688 dated 24th august, on the made of disposing of condemned Artillery adn cavalry horses.In reply to officiating secy no 675 of 27th april last, submits, copy of communication from the joint Dy Commissary General, intimating that, he had, not himself recommended, that condimned, cavy , Horses, should be disposed, off under the order of Right commanding officer, instead of by the commissariat, as here to force but was meaily the medium of submitting a recommendation to that effect from assistant, commissary General major slayd state that the majoirty of the Board are of opinion, that the reasons, assigned by teh major lyod for recommending the change are and judicions but Lt. Colonel mactier, consider the only advantage, diserable there from is that the condition, of the Horses will presented to the last, but that this object might be equally attained, if instead, of being detained , for days by commissariat, the were sent direct to the Department.
