With refrence to mily Department letter no 344 of the 9th october, relative to the permanent appointments, of Captain Gaitskell 26th Native Infantry to the 4 or Bauileah, Division, state, that, Captain G. Does not become entitled, to the f ull allowance, in consequence, of the appointments, having been permanently vacated, which he was officiating but remain entitled, to only half the staf salary untill he is permanently appointed, to the vacant situation, but if it be intended, that, the full staff, salary, should be passed to Captain, G. as a special case, from the period, it captain Bishops promotion to a Regt. majority solicits, an order to this effects.
