With reference to an Extract of the 12th May last states that before Entertaining the application of the Commanding General at Fort Lieutt. George for sanction to certain arrangements in his Office Establishment Consequention the retirment on Pension of Mr. Jones, Head Clerk & Examiner. The President in Council Desires to be furnished with a Statement of such alterations as have been Effected under the sanction of Govt. in the member & Pay of the Writers attached to the Commanding Genl. Office Since the year 1830, when the Establishment stood at an aggregate Monthly Cost of Rs. 1228.8, at it does not appear from the Papers submitted under what arrangement the June of Rs. 41.8. was allowed to be hold available for the purpose of Meeting prospective increases to the Dalaries of the Commanding Genl. Establishment & Officer's obsevations.
