Report that the Superintending Grand Trunk Road has intimated in letter of the 23rd January last, his having sancioned the intertainment as a temparary measure of 2 Sub- Assistant overseers at (35) Rs. each per mensem on the 6th Division G.T. Road in the romm of Sub Conductor Brine, appointed Assitant Executive Officer on the Burdwan Embankment & that in a Subsequent Communication has reports that only one Sub Assistant overseers is Regd. with refere to G.O. 15th January 1850, appointing 2nd Carporal Kemp to the 6th Division G.T. Road. observe that in their Despatch of the 15th February 1850, they solicited the canceliment of Mr. Kemps appointment to that Division & recommended that he should be allowed to continue in the Punjanb, under the Executive Engineer Lahore Division & that they have explained this to Major Willis & have Authorised the entertainment of the 2 Sub Assistant overseers originally applied for Tabular statement.
