In reply to letter no. 52 df 8th instant states tha tthe comdr. in chief would be unvilling to with draw the men of the 22nd regt from their employment on the road but as the 22nd regt is about to proceed to the frontier his excy. wishes to know te probable length of time that these men if they do not rejoin their corps now will be absent from it.
