Judgement in the Meerut Conspiracy Case as to the bearing of sections, 208 and 210, read with section, 347, of the Criminal Procedure Code on the Magistrate`s Power to Commit a Case to Sessions before hearing all the evidence which the prosecuution and the defence with to produce. Question whether the Code should be amended so as to empower local Governments to notify special cases might be tried by the Court of Session with no commitment proceedings.
