Replies to No.4192 of the 31st August last, and submits, for information, a copy of the Jail Rules, revised up to date, showing the scales of diet for all classes of prisoners now in force in the Jails of the Lower Provinces, together with copy of a communication, No.3332, from the Officiating Inspector General of Jails. Lower Provinces, and of the Statement therein enclosed, exhibiting the average and total cost of dieting the prisoners on those scales during May 1866, and the corresponding month of 1865. Copies of General Reports on the subject of Jail dietaries submitted by the Inspector General of Jails, Lower Provinces, and of the orders thereon, are also transmitted.
