In reply to Circular No. 952 dated 17th ultimo states that in these provinces there has been little or no opportunity of testing the rule which requires services of one year which Native Regiment on the service Military Officer who are desirous of enetring the Civil Department as Probationers for the staff Corps. Observes that so far as the rewuirements of this government are concerened it does not appear tjat tjere would be any serious diadvantage from a relazation of the rule.
