Concurs with the Vice President as to the unnecessary high degree of attainment now required by the Examiners and suggests that they be instructed to be satisfied with somewhat less, touching the encouragement for the higher branches of Oriental learning. Proposes that the Home authorities be solicited to sanction a restoration of the rewards formerly held out for the successful Study of the Sanscrit and Arabic Languages.
