Letter from Mr. W. Smoult, Attorney for the General Bank of India, to Mr. E. Hay, Secretary. stating that certain certificates of the Companys, advertised to have been stolen from the General Bank of India, have been presented at the Treasury by Mr. G. Elliot to be exchanged for promissory notes, and proposing to indemnity the Board from expenses if they will deliver the certificates to the General Bank pending legal proceedings.
