Letter from Mr. J. Duncan, Resident at Benares, to the Governor General, explaining why the work of demarcating the boundary line between the British territory and that of the Nabob Vazier cannot be proceeded with, stating that Lieut. Wilford is engaged in researches* into the knowledge of the Hinus in Geography, proposing an allowance for him, and suggesting that Lieut. Wilford may be reimbursed the expenses of preparing a map of the upper part of India.
