From Post Master General - In reply to orders. States that there are 47 paid Post Masters 16 of whom are at places where there are Collectors & Magistrates 4 out of the 16 are Dawk Contractors & these he recommends should not be distrubed. There are likewise 5 other Post Masters which cannot be done away with without inconvenience. The Post Office Regulation is in preparation also an account of Political Dawks & estimate of saving by distributing Dawk on alternate days. Recommends the appointment of Mr. T. Campbell an Indigo Planter at Jellasore to be Post Master at that Station at 50 Rs. per month.
