From Post Master General - Brings to notice instances of endeavors to evade the payment of postage particularly two Private letters discovered in a Public Packet from the Governor Generals Camp and one franked by the Private Secretary to the address of Deebeechurn Seat supposed to contain Servants letters. Submits a statement showing the total amount of Postage collected in the Post Offices of the Governor Generals and Commander in Chief from November to April on Post paid letters dispatched to Calcutta to show that some effective check should be put to the practice. Proposes certain Rules for Securing the Department against similar loss in future.
