To Resident Singapore - In reply. Rescinding the orders conveyed in Mr. Pattullos letter above (consultation No. 12 & 13 dated 13th December 1831) noticed respecting Travelling Expenses to Mr. Lewis. Requested to state his opinion as to how allowances of this description to Officers proceeding on duty into the interior ought to be regulated. Registers sent to the Civil Auditor for adjustment.
