To Secretary North Western Provinces - In acknowledging receipt of his letter with enclosure relative to Vernacular Education in the North Western Provinces conditionally sanctions the proposed distribution of the amount allowed for Zillah & Pergunnah Visitors & Tehselee School masters in the 16 Districts of the North Western Provinces into which Vernacular Education in Mr. Thomasons system has now been introduced. Is opposed to the appropriation of any part of the Land Revenue for the support of Hulkabundee Schools but sanctions in the case of Rohtuck an annual payment of Rs. 3,315.3.10 as a temporary arrangement until the expiry of the present settlement assuming that there is an error in Mr. Ruds calculation in regard to the Revenue realized in the North Western Provinces & the one per cent that would be derived from it for the support of Hulkabundee Schools calls for an explanatilon on the subject.
