Secretary - With Reference of orders of 26th January last reports the appointment of Mr. W. Young as Director of Public Instruction in the Bengal Provinces in a salary of Rs. 30,000 year & taht Messers Pratt and Chapemen of the Civil Service have been appointed on Rs. 1,500 & Rs. 1,000 a memo respectively and Member Wordron & Robinson on Rs. 1,000 &750 per month as Inspecters of Education - Requests sanction to the appointment as occasion may # of 20 Sub Inspectors on 150 Rs. each & 20 on 100 Rs. each - Enclosure of 30 Rs. a memo as travelling allowance. Requests also sanction to an Establishment for each of the Inspectors Amounting to Rs. 64 a Month ( Besides 20 rs. as Office Rent) and notices the travelling allowances perposed to be paid to them. Rules regading grants in aid to Private Schools shall from the Subject of a Separate #.
