To Secretary - Forwards copy of a Memorial Addressed to the Governor General by Mr. Stephen Lushington with a addendum thereto together with a copy of a letter # this day to the Government of the North West Provinces intmating compliance with Mr. Lushington appear to be retransferred to Bengal - Desires that a the return of Mr. L. to the Bengal Division of the Presidency he may be appointed to a position not infarior to that which he held at the time of his transfer to North West Provinces. In consequence of Mr. Lushington retransfer only one Additional Civil Servant will be allotted to Bengal this year, instead of two as proscuded by the orders of the 3rd September last.
