Read a Despatch from the Right Honble the Secretary of State for India No. 23 of 1859 dated 24th February regarding the extension of leave for six months to Mr. W. C. Costley Deputy Magistrate & Collector of Baraset notified in Despatch No. 26 dated 4th November 1858. States that extension was granted in ignorance of the first that Mr. Costley had on a privious occasion been at home for two years on Sick Certificate . Desires that when a second leave is granted to an Uncovenanted Servants it should be notified in the letter granting the leave Mr. Costley has been told that provided be arrives in India on or before the 23rd June 1859 (when his present leave will expire) his appointment will be kept open for him or one of equal value provided for him. He has received an advance of 6 months pay.
