To Secretary - States that Her Majestys Government have determined upon deputing a confidential Officer to South America to make collection of the seeds & plants of the quinire yielding cinchona tree and convey them to Calcutta, Madras & Ceylon Mean while His Majestys Government have desired that information over be collected is to the best locality for planting the Conchares in this Presidency and requests that the Superintendent of the Botonic Garden at Calcutta may be called upon to communicated his opinion on this point, together with any other respecting the coltivation of the Corchona in India.
