J.R. Logan Esquire - At the request ofthe Chinese Community of the station, forwards copy ofa letter dated 29th June last, addressed to the Resident Councillor when he called on them to name a Member of a Committee to enquire into their grievances, and of a Memorial presented by them to the Governor after enquiry, ofwhich no notice has been taken. Expresses their gratitude for the attention paid by this Governmentto their petition, and doull not that the reply to it will ensure to them greater consderation at the hands of the Local authorities in furture.
