Verification of thumb and finger impressions. Decision that in the case of candidates for appointment to non-gazetted posts the existing practice must continue so far as illiterate persons are concerned and that in the case of literate persons who can sign in English it will be sufficient if the examining Medical Officer or Board is asked to obtain on the medical certificate the signature of the candidate in his or its presence, and if this is afterwards verified by the head of the office by comparison with that in the Service Book
