Question whether an All India Service Officer who has been granted leave preparatory to retirement can reject to continue on leave under the All India Services (Leave) Rules of 1955.Referring to a decision made by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, it was decided that an officer could choose to cancel a leave of absence if it had not yet started, and that the cancellation would not count as a refusal of leave.
