Lieutenant-Colonel R.J.C. Burke received a travel reimbursement for his expenses when he returned from vacation to accept the position of Resident in Mysore. The issue of whether first class residents travelling in reserved accommodations are eligible for free carriage on transfer of personal goods under S.R. 126. Even though the appointment is made in an officiating role, it was decided that First Residents are still entitled to the reserved travel accommodations allowed by S.R. 117.
