The government is considering building a home at Chunabhatti for the accommodation of the Bhutan Envoy, who travels to Buxa every year to pick up the subsidy owed to the Bhutan Darbar by the government of India. The annual subsidy will now be paid by the Indian government to the Bhutan Darbar at Kalimpong instead of Buxa as it has in the past.
